James E. Kennedy Jr. and his partner Joseph Joaquin have been amazing their clients with their unique style and creative designs for over 30 years.

After earning his degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales and then furthering his education at the Wilton School of Confectionery Art in Chicago, James returned to the northeast and took a job in the catering department of the Cafe in the Barn in Seekonk. There he was given the responsibility of creating the celebration cakes for weddings and special events, while simultaneously honing his artistic skills in several competitions and food shows in New York City.

In 1992, James and Joseph opened Confections, where he has been delighting brides and their guests with his custom-designed wedding cakes, which are as delicious to eat as they are beautiful to look at. Inspired by color, fashion and home design, James often attends annual market shows in New York City for ideas on current color and style trends for the coming season.

His work has been featured in major national and regional publications – a testament to the creativity and consistency that he brings to his work. Inspired by his mother, who is an avid baker, James carries on that family tradition with added passion and style – necessary ingredients for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
